Rainy Monday in Mindanao due to low pressure area
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) off General Santos City will dump rain in parts of Mindanao on Monday.
Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to the LPA embedded in the intertropical convergence zone, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday afternoon.
The LPA was last spotted 220 kilometers east southeast of General Santos City, but was not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.
Tropical cyclone estimates for the month of May are zero to one, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have fair weather due to the easterlies, the dominant weather system during the dry season. But isolated rain and thunderstorms are still expected.
