DOH logs 253 new COVID-19 infections; active cases down to 5,967

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday logged 253 new COVID-19 infections as reported in the COVID-19 tracker on its website.

Active COVID-19 cases, meanwhile, are down to 5,967.

With this, the total number of confirmed infections is now at 3,685,895 nationwide, with 3,619,531 recoveries and 60,397 deaths.

A total of 16,901 individuals were also tested on April 30, according to the DOH.

The new recorded infections are slightly higher than the average number of cases recorded in the previous week, April 18 to 24, at 209 per day, for a total of 1,465 cases.

The next weekly report is scheduled to be released on Monday, May 2.
