Mimaropa’s top 4 most wanted person nabbed in Occidental Mindoro

CITY OF CALAPAN – The fourth most wanted person in the region of Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) who was also a former member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested on Friday evening, April 29, in San Jose town, Occidental Mindoro province, police said Saturday.

After almost 12 years in hiding, the suspect, who was only identified on the report as “Ka Jomar,” 55, was collared by police armed with an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 46 in San Jose for two counts of murder, in Barangay (village) San Isidro.

Police said “Ka Jomar” was part of the 2nd Squad, Iskuad Gerilya “Barakuda”, Komiteng Distrito Norly Biñan, Mindoro Island Party Committee, Southern Luzon Command of the NPA which covered Sablayan, Sta. Cruz, Mamburao, Abra de Ilog, and Paluan towns.

He is under the custody of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Occidental Mindoro before he will be turned over to the issuing court.

Since January, seven NPA members have been arrested under Mimaropa police’s anti-insurgency program.
