LUCENA CITY––Police arrested Thursday a former drug convict in this city, who yielded more than P31,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation.

Lt. Col. Reynaldo Reyes, Lucena police chief, reported that anti-illegal drugs operatives collared at 12:58 a.m. Wilbert Valencia, 31, after he reportedly sold P500 worth of meth to a police agent acting as a drug user in Barangay 4.

Authorities confiscated five plastic sachets of shabu worth P31,416 in the street market.

Reformed drug users identified the suspect as one of the shabu suppliers in the village and nearby areas.

The local police classified the suspect as a street-level individual on its drug watchlist. He was formerly on several drug pushing charges.

Now back in jail, the suspect faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
