Ex-drug convict shot dead in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY––An unidentified gunman shot and killed Thursday a former drug convict in this city, police said.
The Lucena police, in a report, said Rodelio Legaspi, 48, was standing on the roadside in Barangay Ibabang Dupay about 12:30 p.m. when a motorcycle-riding man shouted invectives then shot him twice on the head, killing him instantly. The report did not say whether Legaspi was shot at close range.
The suspect escaped aboard a black and gray Honda ADV motorcycle after the shooting.
Witnesses said the gunman was wearing a black jacket, with a facemask and cap.
The police were conducting further investigation to identify the killer.
Police Corporal Eduardo Nartea Jr., case investigator, said the victim was previously arrested on drug charges but was released last November.
