Tot dies in fall from Parañaque condo

A flight stewardess is under investigation for possible negligence after her 2-year-old son accidentally plunged four stories to his death in a condominium in Parañaque City Thursday night.

The Parañaque police are still investigating the death of 2-year-old Jadden Zachariah Gan, who fell from the balcony of a condominium unit on the fourth floor of Avida Tower 6 in Sucat, San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

According to Police Officer 3 Joel Romantico, investigator on the case, the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the bedroom of the unit, where Jadden was with his mother, Andrea, a flight stewardess for Philippine Airlines.

The two were lying on the bed when Jadden reportedly got up, walked toward the open sliding windows near the bed, and suddenly fell straight down into the pavement on the ground floor. Jadden was rushed to the Olivarez Medical Hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Romantico said Andrea refused to subject her son’s body for an autopsy, insisting that his fall was an accident. The police will also investigate any liability on the part of Avida Land, the condominium developer, especially if they failed to provide proper safety and security features for the units.—Nathaniel R.
