MANILA, Philippines — A total 1,465 infections of COVID-19 were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) from April 18 to 24, with no new severe or critical cases recorded.
The DOH in its weekly report on Monday said that this is 12 percent lower than the total cases recorded the week before (April 11 to 17) at 1,674 COVID-19 cases.
Total cases from April 18 to 24 translated to an average of 209 cases per day, slightly lower than the previous week’s 239.
An additional 213 deaths were verified in the same period — 43 of which occurred in the month of April, while the rest were backlogs from previous months.
Despite the lower number of recorded cases, the DOH report showed that healthcare utilization rate slightly rose to 16.9 percent from last week’s 16.7 percent, while ICU-bed utilization also increased from 15.8 percent to 16.9 percent.
The total number of individuals who continue to suffer severe and critical symptoms now currently sit at 726.
Fully-vaccinated individuals are now at 67,485,479 (74.98 percent of target population) after 881,680 additional individuals vaccinated in the past week.
Individuals with booster shots number 12,939,274 after 297,387 additional individuals were inoculated in the same period.
