2 dead in Southern Leyte road accident

ORMOC CITY — Two women died after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed head on with the motorcycle they were riding in Silago town, Southern Leyte at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, April 24.

Marlita Masing, 45, and her back rider Rechelle Togonon, 18, were rushed to the rural health unit but were declared dead on arrival by Dr. Bjorn Boyd Monforte, acting municipal health officer of Silago.

Initial investigation conducted by the responding police disclosed that both vehicles were traversing opposite directions.

Upon reaching a curved portion of the area, the SUV encroached the opposite lane and collided into the motorcycle.

The two victims suffered multiple injuries on their bodies.

The driver of the SUV bearing a plate number NDW-3013 drove away from the area.
