Bongbong Marcos vows to address Occ. Mindoro power supply woes

LIPA CITY, Batangas — In Occidental Mindoro which has been hounded with electricity issues, presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed Wednesday to address power supply in the province, if elected.

Addressing the crowd in Mamburao town, Marcos said the power issues in Occidental Mindoro are a “big problem” that must be addressed.

“Natanggap ko ang listahan ninyo, sa Occidental Mindoro ang inaalala ng tao, number one kailangan ang susunod na administrasiyon ay makahanap ng paraan na bawasan ang singil ng kuryente sa taumbayan para makita natin na hindi masyadong nahihirapan ang mga tao,” Marcos said.

(I received your list and in Occidental Mindoro, residents’ top request for the next administration is to find a way to lessen electricity costs.)

“Balita ko dito madalas ang brown out. Kailangan nating ayusin yan, napakalaking problema niyan (I heard brown outs often happen here. We have to fix that, that is a huge problem),” he added.

Marcos said that ensuring there is enough supply and affordable cost of electricity would be the  “fastest way to bring the province to greater progress and development.”

Aside from the electricity problems, Marcos also assured the Occidental Mindoro crowd that support will be given to the agriculture, health, and education sector in the province.

Marcos earlier said he wants a profound study that would lead to a viable solution to reduce power rates in the country.

If elected, Marcos said his administration will focus on the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity nationwide and will add more energy resources to ensure a sufficient power supply.

Guv’s backing

Marcos has received the support of Occidental Mindoro Governor Eduardo Gadiano who said his province is one with the presidential candidate’s call for unity.

“Napakaswerte natin na tayo ang unang binisita sa Mimaropa. Ang Occidental Mindoro ay 101% na sumusuporta sa ating magiging presidente, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos,” Gadiano said.

(We are so lucky that we are the first area visited in Mimaropa. Occidental Mindoro is 101 percent supporting our soon-to-be president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.)

Following the rally in Mamburao, Marcos went to Calapan in Oriental Mindoro. A grand rally, which will be attended by Marcos and his running mate Inday Sara Duterte, will also happen in Lipa City in Batangas.
