LEGAZPI CITY––An alleged New People’s Army member was arrested Monday, April 18, in Masbate City in Masbate province for the killing of Far Eastern University football player Kieth Absalon and his cousin.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the police, armed with a warrant of arrest, nabbed around 1 p.m. Rolly Hermina, 51, in Barangay Bapor.

Calubaquib said Hermina was a member of Larangan 1, Komite ng Probinsya 4, under the command of Eddie Rosero, alias “Ka Star,” operating in the second district of the province.

Hermina was also involved in the killing of civilian Samuel Verano in 2019, the report said.

Kieth and his cousin Nolven were killed when a landmine exploded while biking in Barangay Anas in the said city on June 6, 2021.
