Bhutakalz leads IBP hoop
TEAM Bhutakalz logged its third straight win after routing undermanned Pecandela Law Firm, 78-56, last Saturday to snare the early lead in the 8th IBP-2012 First Conference basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
Bhutakalz led, 15-14, in the opening period but Pecandela rallied, 17-14 in the second to rule the half, 31-29. However, Bhutakalz responded with a blistering 29-11 rally to erect a commanding 16-point lead, 58-42, going to the final quarter where it completed the 22-point rout.
Van Ligutan led Bhutakalz with 18 points while Dwight Remedio and Resty Arnaiz added 14 points each. Jessie Capoy paced Pecandela with 17 markers.
Earlier, the Dissenters barged into the win column after nipping Primos-Rama, 55-53. Both teams tote 1-2 win-loss records while the Los Demonyous crushed Jodin, 92-69, for its 2nd win in three games. Jodin fell to 1-2.
