Ako Bisdak to rebalance distribution of Philippines’ resources
MANILA, Philippines — Ako Bisdak Partylist is committed to rebalance the country’s resources in Luzon — including Metro Manila — Visayas, and Mindanao.
The partylist likewise “aims to develop a Bisdak regional identity that runs along the lines of the Tagalog and Ilocano regional iIdentities” to allow them to seek equitable share in the nation’s budget.
Ako Bisdak will focus on three core programs to foster development of a Bisdak Regional Identity. These are connectivity, health care, and housing.
“These core programs will be the foundation for the creation of the Super Bisdak Economic Region,” the partylist said in a statement.
The mark of the connectivity core program will be livelihood with connectivity to education, training, and to the market with roads and wireless internet.
Article continues after this advertisement“Ako Bisdak will ensure that all public schools in the Visayas and Mindanao Regions will be covered with WIFI with enough bandwidth to cover all students to enhance education and to foster Visayan regional identity,” said the party.
Article continues after this advertisementUnder the health care core program, Ako Bisdak will push for budgetary allotment to “develop low cost provincial diagnostics centers, subsidize medical costs for senior citizens and low cost insurance for emergency care.”
The party stressed that Visayas has the lowest number of government hospital beds and government doctors compared to other regions.
Noting that over 5.6 million families belong to the “unserved segment,” Ako Bisdak wanted to expedite the roll out of housing communities with climate change resistant design.
“Ako Bisdak will [aim] to fast track the roll out of self sustaining social housing communities with climate change resistant design,” the party pushed.
The nominees of Ako Bisdak — Admiral Ernesto Enriquez, National Bureau of Investigation Director Virgilio Mendez, and Transportation Undersecretary Rommel Gavieta — will push for the programs.
