High value drug suspect killed in Camarines Norte buy-bust
MANILA, Philippines — A high value drug personality was killed and some P6.8 million worth of shabu (crysal meth) were seized in a buy-bust operation in Camarines Norte on Saturday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.
Police said suspect Merlito Senaon Bayta Jr, 37, was shot during the buy-bust operation at around 1:20 a.m. in Barangay (village) Mancruz, Daet town in Camarines Norte. Police said Bayta was declared dead by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) as he was about to be taken to a hospital.
“However, upon arrival at the scene and checking of the vital signs of the suspect, MDRRMO authorities declared Bayta dead,” the PNP said in a statement.
Also recovered from the scene of the bust were a caliber .45 pistol and the marked cash used in the bust.
