PORAC, Pampanga — The Visayas and Mindanao chapters of “Team Lopangu” are maintaining their support for the presidential bid of Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.
Team Lopangu reiterated Wednesday that they will stand behind the Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer despite recent defections by other volunteer organizations that initially endorsed Moreno for president.
“We threw our support behind Mayor Moreno because he showed, in his two-plus years as Manila mayor, that he is the kind of leader we need in Malacañang: pro-poor, decisive, and innovative,” Pol Nombre, Visayas Campaign Director for Team Lopangu, said in a statement.
“The reason we picked him is because he wants a better life for the poor. More than aid, progress,” he added.
Team Lopangu Mindanao Director Adonis Gumahad said they will stick with Moreno even despite “having difficulty in funds.”
“We’re having difficulty in funds, most of the time we don’t have any. We are not paid and even use our own funds. But this is our small contribution [to] the nation,” Gumahad said.
“There would be no rest. No leaving anyone behind. That’s how we are in Team Lopangu. From start to finish. We will not fall for other camps’ raids,” he also said.
On Tuesday, Ikaw Muna (IM) Pilipinas led by former Metro Manila Development Authority head Tim Orbos announced their shift of support to Vice President Leni Robredo’s bid for president. IM Pilipinas was one of the first groups to encourage Moreno to vie for the country’s highest elective post.
