MANILA, Philippines — An additional 233 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded Wednesday on the Department of Health’s (DOH) coronavirus tracker posted on its website.

The tracker also indicated that active COVID-19 infections decreased to 25,134 from Tuesday’s 26,256, while the total number of confirmed infections stood at 3,682,083 nationwide, including 3,597,058 recoveries and 59,891 deaths as of April 13.

It further showed that only 19,339 people nationwide were tested for SARS-CoV-2, the latest coronavirus strain that causes the severe respiratory illness COVID-19 on Tuesday, April 12.

The 233 new COVID-19 cases logged Wednesday were slightly lower than the average number of coronavirus infections recorded from April 4-10 which was 272 per day or a total of 1,906 for that week.
