MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Sunday said that more than 45,500 people are affected by Tropical Storm Agaton.
According to the NDRRMC in its latest report, 38,399 families or 45,588 individuals are affected by Agaton in Visayas and Mindanao.
More than 23,000 families have also been displaced by the storm, with only 3,228 inside evacuation centers and 20,613 outside.
Two people have also been confirmed injured by Agaton’s onslaught, both of them from Region 10, NDRRMC said.
About P874,000 worth of damage to agriculture in BARMM, had also been reported by NDRRMC, with 230 hectares of crops in the region damaged by the storm.
Meanwhile, Trento, Agusan del Sur has already been placed under a state of calamity due to the storm.
As of 4:00 p.m, the eye of “Agaton” is located over the coastal waters of Lawaan, Eastern Samar moving westward slowly at 35 km per hour (kph)
It carries maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gusts of up to 105 kph.
