MANILA, Philippines — Don’t fight over your candidates, Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who is again seeking election in the Senate, reminded voters on Saturday amid the country’s polarized political atmosphere.

Escudero made the reminder to 65.7 million registered voters for the upcoming local and national elections this May 9.

“Let me repeat: This is only until May 9. Hopefully, after this, let’s look at ourselves not as Bicolano, Ilocano, Cebuano, Waray, Kapampangan, Batangueño, or wherever you might come from. We are still all Filipinos,” he added.

Escudero also said that one should not be judged just because of their different political preferences.
