MANILA, Philippines – Police have arrested Parañaque City’s “most wanted person” in Calumpit, Bulacan, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Wednesday.
The suspect was identified as Godofredo Lansanga III, also known as Igot, who was arrested on Tuesday through a warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
In a statement, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad said the suspect was arrested at a resort along Mc Arthur Highway in Calumpit, Bulacan, following a tip from informants.
Lansanga’s arrest warrant was issued by Parañaque City Regional Trial Court Branch 257 Judge Rolando G. How on July 29, 2019, the NCRPO said.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Parañaque City Police for proper documentation before being handed over to the Court, the NCRPO said.
Natividad also thanked the public for supporting the NCRPO’s campaign in maintaining peace and order.
“Team NCRPO deeply appreciates the continuous support of the public in maintaining the peace and order in the Metro by providing information to our police officers that leads to the arrest of most wanted persons,” he said.
“This accomplishment is an indication that our men on the field remain zealous to their sworn duties,” he added. — Jericho Zafra, INQUIRER.net intern
