Lacson-Sotto tandem takes campaign to Bohol

MANILA, Philippines — About a month before the May 9 polls, the tandem of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III will be wooing voters in Bohol as they once again take their campaign to the Central Visayas region.

Lacson and Sotto arrived at the Panglao Airport Tuesday morning and were accompanied by their Senate bets, former Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol and Dr. Minguita Padilla.

They were welcomed by the co-chairmen and district coordinators of the Lacson-Sotto Support Group (LSSG) in the province before heading to the Bohol Provincial Capitol where they will pay courtesy to Vice Governor Rene Relampagos and other provincial officials.

They are also scheduled to hold a sectoral meeting with some 600 participants from the Manga, Tagbilaran Fishermen Organization; the Napo Loon Fishermen Association; the Iyaah Farmers’ Association; the Ubay Tricycle Drivers’ Association; the PNP (Philippines National Police) Retirees’ Association – Bohol Chapter; the Guardians – Bohol; and the Bayan Bantay Bohol.

Market vendors and members of a youth organization in the province are also expected to participate in the meeting.

In the afternoon, Lacson and Sotto will pay a courtesy call to Bishop Albert Sy Uy in his residence in Tagbilaran.

The tandem will also take time to greet supporters at the the Valencia Public Market.

Lacson and Sotto will then proceed to the Jagna Baywalk where they will attend a rally for local political candidates.

The 20th vote-rich province in the country, Bohol has 949,791 registered voters.

Lacson and Sotto will also embark on a two-day campaign in Cebu from April 6 to 7.
