Cebu Pacific brings home 385 distressed Filipinos from Lebanon and Kuwait
MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has assisted in the repatriation of 385 distressed Filipinos from Beirut and Kuwait via a charter flight arranged by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
In a statement on Monday, Cebu Pacific said it coordinated with the Philippine embassies in Beirut and Kuwait to bring home 119 passengers from Beirut and 266 passengers in Kuwait in March 31.
“We are happy to support the government in bringing home more kababayans. We are honored to enable them to reunite with their loved ones after such a long time,” Cebu Pacific chief strategy officer Alex Reyes.
Cebu Pacific said it has repatriated more than 11,300 Filipinos from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, India, Vietnam, Bahrain, Lebanon, and Kuwait through Bayanihan and DFA-arranged charter flights since July last year.
