LUBAO, Pampanga––Some 8,000 supporters of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo gathered Monday, the eve of her birthday, outside the new Lubao town hall.
Arroyo, 75, was expecting Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Uniteam’s vice presidential bet, to join her for dinner there.
Arroyo, who is running unopposed in her comeback to Congress after completing three terms, is scheduled to speak at the gathering there.
In Mexico town, third district Rep. Aurelio Gonzales has organized a dinner party for Arroyo. The Davao City mayor was expected to attend this also.
