DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Philippines — Presidential candidate Sen. Manny Pacquiao got a warm welcome in this city on Saturday, the second day of his campaigning on Negros Island, after his sortie in Bacolod City in Negros Occidental.

After a motorcade, he held a grand rally at the Rusi Ball Park, his first since his proclamation rally last Feb. 8.

Some 80,000 people attended the rally, according to Negros Oriental Rep. Arnie Teves, who organized the event.

Teves hosted the event himself.

During the rally, singer Jovit Baldivino and actresses Ruffa Gutierrez and Ruffa Mae Quinto performed.

Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee also spoke before the crowd.

During his speech, Pacquiao reiterated his vow to get people out of poverty and jail corrupt politicians.

If he wins, he said he would be the only president to have experienced sleeping in the streets.
