Man, mother-in-law nabbed for illegal drugs in Nueva Ecija
CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines – A suspected drug pusher operating in southern Nueva Ecija and his mother-in-law were arrested by police on Friday after a search in their house yielded “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and a gun.
Superintendent Ricardo Villanueva, chief of the provincial police’s intelligence branch, said they recovered at least 50 grams of shabu in nine plastic sachets from the house of Danilo Obispo, 33, and his mother-in-law, Prescila Ramos, 55, in San Leonardo town.
Police said the confiscated shabu has an estimated street value of P550,000.
Police searched Obispo’s house at about 6 a.m. on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Celso Baguio of the Gapan City regional trial court.
Obispo was arrested for a drug-related offense in October last year but was able to post bail, police said.
