House of Maguindanao ex-mayor strafed
BULUAN, Maguindanao––Unidentified gunmen on Friday strafed the house in this town of former Mayor Ibrahim Mangudadatu, his relatives said.
In a statement on social media, Maguindanao Board Member King Mangudadatu said no one got hurt in the attack that happened at about 1:30 a.m.
He said the police recovered empty shells of M16 Armalite rifle, M14 rifle, M1 carbine, cal.30 machine gun, and empty shells for 40mm and M79 grenade around the former mayor’s home in Barangay Poblacion.
In his social media posts, Mangudadatu pointed at a hole that a rifle grenade fired from a distance created.
The walls and gate also had bullet holes, while an M79 grenade exploded at the roof.
Article continues after this advertisementNo one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Mangudadatu said he knew who did the attack, adding that the family decided to leave the matter to police investigators.

Buluan is not among the 10 towns listed by the police as election hotspots.
