BACOLOD CITY––The Negros Occidental provincial government warned the public Wednesday about four fake Facebook accounts depicting the province and Gov. Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said they had requested Facebook to block all four accounts for misrepresentation.

“They are not authorized by the provincial government or the governor,” he said.

At least three Facebook accounts bear the name Negros Occidental with the official seal of the provincial government, and another claimed to be created by “Bong Lacson,” with the governor’s picture and the official seal of the province.

“The provincial government Information Technology team, information office, and legal team are acting on the matter,” Diaz said.
