MANILA, Philippines — Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM) said on Sunday that presidential aspirant Leody de Guzman would benefit from the continuing changing of affiliations and transfers of support by traditional politicians to other candidates a little over a month before the May elections.
Sonny Melencio, PLM chair, said in a Viber message that “not only are the Filipino voters awakened and angered by the outright political turncoatism of traditional politicians and political parties of the elite, they now realize that they have the option of supporting a candidate that is not burdened by a record of shifting allegiances.”
“For the longest time, the Filipino masses have been duped into choosing the lesser evil among candidates of the elite class of society. These politicians who do not differ in platforms or stances on major issues of the day have camouflaged their political and economic interests with grand gestures and promises of reforms and unity,” Melencio added.
“Ka Leody is without doubt a cut above the rest of the presidentiables since he has remained loyal to PLM,” he said.
