MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Saturday spotted a low pressure area (LPA) east of General Santos City.
According to Pagasa, the LPA was located 395 kilometers east of General Santos City at 3 p.m.
The LPA currently embedded within the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but is expected to traverse Mindanao if it will not dissipate.
“Inaasahan natin ngayong gabi hanggang bukas ng madaling araw, magdadala ito ng pag-ulan sa buong Mindanao gayundin sa Eastern Visayas at lalawigan ng Bohol,” said Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran.
(We expect that tonight until midnight, it will bring rain over the entire Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Bicol province.)
The rest of the country, meanwhile, will still experience hot and humid weather due to the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
