WATCH: Greco Belgica challenges fellow senatorial bets to show off achievements

MANILA, Philippines — Former Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) head Greco Belgica posed a challenge to his fellow senatorial candidates to lay down their achievements to prove themselves worthy for a seat in the Senate.

In a Facebook video showing his newly established headquarters, Belgica enumerated the things he has done while serving as chief of the PACC.

“Kailangang ipakita nyo ang galing n’yo, kung anong nagawa n’yo. Dahil ‘yun ang panghahawakan ng mga tao,” he said.

Among the items listed on his tarp is the 272 counts of malversation cases against former President Beningo Aquino III, Sen. Antonio Trillianes and Sen. Franklin Drilon; the dismissal of 20 officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines due to corruption; the formation of 49 anti-corruption coordinating councils throughout the government, the P741.53 Yolanda housing anomaly expose’; and the probe on the P10B jewelry smuggling in at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Belgica said that the fight for the presidency and the vice presidency is almost done after PDP-Laban endorsed the tandem of former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Davao Mayor Sara Duterte.

“Kaya sa senador na ang laban ngayon. Hanapin na natin kung sinong magagaling na senador. ‘Yun ang hinahamon natin ngayon,” he said.

He posed the challenge particularly to the veteran senators, who has figured in numerous Senate inquiries.

“‘Yung mga senador dyan na 6years, 12 years, 18 years na senado. Nagiimbestiga rin kayo, nagpapakaso din kayo. Ilan doon ang nakulong, ilan ang nakasuhan nyo?” he said.
