MANILA, Philippines — Special COVID-19 vaccination days will be held in Cebu on March 29 to 31, the Department of Health (DOH) said Thursday.
The DOH earlier said that they are planning to conduct special vaccination days in areas with low immunization coverage.
“On the matter of details regarding special vaccination days, Cebu will be held on March 29-31,” the health department said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the conduct of special vaccination days in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is still being discussed.
“For other targeted areas such as BARMM, these are still being discussed, the DOH through the [National Vaccination Operations Center] will be providing updates once details have been ironed out,” the DOH added.
Compared to the national vaccination days which were held across the country, the special vaccination days will target areas that need a boost in immunization.
So far, the country has staged out four national vaccination days since November last year.
As of March 20, around 65 million individuals in the country are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to health authorities.
