MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) announced Wednesday that early registration in public schools for School Year 2022-2023 will start on March 25.
In a memorandum dated March 21, DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones said early registration for primary and secondary classes will “allow the Department to make necessary preparations and adjustment of plans for the incoming school year.”
The early registration will run until April 30.
Only incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 in public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register, while incoming Grades 2 to 6, Grades 8 to 10, and Grade 12 students are already considered pre-registered and no longer required to participate in the early registration event.
“Private schools are encouraged to conduct their respective early registration activities [in] the same timeframe,” said Briones.
DepEd said in-person registration will only be allowed through parents or guardians in areas under COVID-19 Alert Levels 1 and 2, while registration shall be done remotely in areas under Alert Levels 3 to 5.
The exact date for the start of School Year 2022-2023, however, is yet to be finalized and announced by DepEd.
