MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized counterfeit goods and ukay-ukay (used clothing) worth around P45 million from warehouses in Baltao, Parañaque City.

Seized from the warehouses were some 3,300 bales of ukay-ukay and other popular and luxury clothing and apparel brands like Crocs, Adidas and Nike, among others.

The BOC said the owners of the warehouses and the seized goods were now being investigated for possible violations.

In Cebu, Customs authorities foiled an attempted smuggling of 1.5 kilograms of various flower seeds from Indonesia concealed inside a pair of sport shoes.

The importation did not have a clearance from the Bureau of Plant Industry, the BOC said. The package, declared to contain sport shoes, was found to contain 41 sachets of flower seeds.
