MANILA, Philippines — A Grade 12 student died after an alleged hazing in Barangay San Juan in Kalayaan town, Laguna on Sunday.
According to a police report, the victim identified as Reymarc Rabutazo was rushed to a hospital in the municipality of Pakil on Sunday but was declared dead on arrival.

“Hirap na hirap siya sa nangyari. Pinaso ninyo, lagas ang ngipin, may damage ang ulo. Brutal na brutal. Demonyo ang gumawa,” the victim’s mother, Maricar, said in an interview with 24 Oras.
(He suffered a lot with what happened. You burned his skin, his teeth fell, there was damage in his head. It was really brutal. A demon did this.)
“Ang daming pangarap ng bata. Pangarap naming mag-asawa para sa bata. Anong ginawa ninyo? Winala ninyo,” his father, Remil, said.
(The kid had a lot of dreams. We, his parents, had a lot of dreams for him. What did you do? You wasted it all.)
