Bello sings a Sinatra tune to Marcos, Duterte: ‘Where Are You?’
MANILA, Philippines — Vice presidential candidate former Rep. Walden Bello is not done with his tirades against another candidate, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, for skipping the debates.
Bello has repeatedly shown his exasperation over the Duterte-Carpio’s absence from the vice presidential debates.
So on Sunday, during the Commission on Elections (Comelec) PiliPinas vice presidential debate, he answered a question — if it would be more effective to have just one agency to address corruption in government —by singing a Frank Sinatra song, “Where Are You?”
“Can I answer any way I want?” Bello asked debate moderator Ruth Cabal.
“The question, sir. Please answer the question,” replied Cabal.

[The original second line that Sinatra sang was: “Where have you gone without me?” — Ed.]
Bello also blasted Marcos — this time for the unpaid tax liabilities of P203.819 billion.
Using the same tune but with Filipino lyrics, Bello sang: “Nasaan ka? Nasaan ang pera? Ibalik mo na ang pera, ibalik mo na.”
“That’s for Marcos Jr. — 203 billion pesos. You owe it to the Filipino people. Give it back. That’s my answer,” Bello said.
Four days earlier, the Bureau of Internal Revenue confirmed sending a demand letter to the Marcos family for payment of their estate tax liability.
