Tricycle driver dead in Batangas City road mishap

LUCENA CITY––A man died after the tricycle he was driving collided Wednesday with a truck in Batangas City, a report said Thursday.

The Batangas police reported that at 9:30 p.m., a truck driven by Anthony Quejada, while negotiating the national road in Barangay Tinga Labac, was hit on its front left side by a tricycle driven by Wilfredo Salazar, 52.

Salazar suffered grave injuries and died while being taken to Batangas Medical Center.

The report said the tricycle overtook another vehicle and occupied the opposite lane, which led to the collision.

The police were conducting further investigation, while truck driver Quejada was taken into custody and detained at the police jail.
