9 of 21 localities in Pampanga now COVID-free

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Nine of the 21 localities in this province have become free from COVID-19 as of Tuesday (March 15), the provincial epidemiology and surveillance unit reported.

The provincial government identified the towns with zero active cases as Bacolor, Magalang, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, Minalin, San Simon, Sta. Rita, and Porac.

Porac had a single case on Monday who recovered from the viral disease the next day.

Mexico, Sasmuan, Sta. Ana, and San Luis have a single case each as of Tuesday.

This city has four active cases, while the capital city of San Fernando has only two.

On Tuesday, Pampanga registered two new COVID-19 cases—one in this city and another in Guagua town. It also registered 22 recoveries and zero deaths. The province’s active cases stood at 31.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, Pampanga has recorded a total of 56,573 COVID-19 cases, of which 53,957 had recovered while 2,585 had died.

Pampanga and the rest of Central Luzon are currently under Alert Level 1 until March 31.
