Police said they suspect the man arrested for credit card hacking in Cebu City connived with credit card agents.
The suspect, Jerwin Gurrea Minglanilla, revealed three names as his cohorts.
Senior Supt. Jose Pante of the criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-7) said that aside from the complainant, Wilson dela Calzada, four other persons, including businessmen, came forward to file a complaint against Minglanilla, who was arrested last week in an entrapment operation.
Most of the victims who showed up are holders of Citibank criedit cards, the same with Dela Calzada.
“They said they were also victims but we have to check this and whether we can get evidence against Minglanilla,” Chief Insp. Fermin Armendarez said.
Pante advised credit card holders not to show their purchase receipts, which reflects their credit card data, to anyone.
Minglanilla was charged with violation of Republic Act 8484 regulating the use of access devices and estafa. He was accused of buying airline tickets online using Calzada’s credit card./correspondent chitio aragon
