MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a drug suspect in a buy-bust operation on Monday in Bacolod City and seized from him 55 grams of suspected crystal meth worth P374, 000.

Gen. Dionardo Carlos, chief of the Philippine National Police, identified the suspect as Carlo Jordan Arevalo, 24. He was arrested at 1:39 a.m. on Monday in Purok Tinagong Paraiso, Zone 3, Barangay Banagao in Bacolod City.

Besides the meth, locally known as shabu, police also confiscated drug paraphernalia from the suspect.

The suspect was detained at the Bacolod City Police Station.

“With the launching of our Double Barrel Finale Version 2022 — also known as Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation through Reinforcement and Education or ADORE — we will strengthen even more our current program through intensified operations of our operatives, along with closer ties with other sectors of society and communities, so that we can completely curb crime and illegal drugs in the country,” Carlos said in a statement in Filipino.
