P22.5-M worth of marijuana seized in Pasig City; 4 suspects arrested

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested four suspected drug personalities in a drug operation in Pasig City, seizing 15 kilograms of marijuana in the process.

The PNP in a report identified the suspects as Mivier Miranda Jr., 25; Abdel Badio, 26; Jeffrey Tavas, 37; and Dante Garbida, 29.

The four were arrested after the PNP Drug Enforcement Unit (DEG) conducted an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pasig City on Tuesday, March 14.

Authorities confiscated 15 kilos of high-grade marijuana estimated to be worth P22.5 million.

All confiscated drugs and pieces of evidence are now in the custody of PNP-DEG for documentation, said the PNP.

“Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspects,” said PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos in a statement.

“These relentless drug operations are a clear result of our intensified campaign against this social menace. The flow of its supply chain must be dismantled to prevent them from being sold to the users,” he added.
