OLONGAPO CITY––The number of COVID-19 cases in this city dropped to three on Sunday, March 13, as the local government continued aiming to become virus-free in the coming days.

Data from the local COVID-19 task force showed that the city did not record any new infections on Sunday while registering more recoveries in the past days, keeping its COVID-19 cases at 6,977.

There were also no new fatalities to the city’s death toll, which stood at 348.

The city had been classified as “very low risk” for COVID-19 since last week due to its dwindling number of infections and slow virus growth, the analytics group OCTA Research said.

Due to its improving COVID-19 risk indicators, the city has been placed under alert level 1, along with most localities in Central Luzon.
