MANILA, Philippines — Vice presidential candidate Senate President Vicente Sotto III said he remains committed to serve the people up to his last day in office as a senator.

Sotto made the remark after a Social Weather Stations conducted December 12 to 16 last year which was released last Friday showed him having a “very good” net approval rating.

The Senate President said he can attribute the “very good” rating to his dedication to his work which he has shown from the time he entered the public service as vice mayor of Quezon City.

“Sincerity and hard work. With God’s grace, I am always able to go to work and perform my job with or without pandemic. I am glad that our countrymen are satisfied with the way I serve our people,” Sotto said.

The fourth quarter 2021 SWS survey showed 65 percent of the respondents were satisfied with Sotto as the leader of the Senate, 20 percent were undecided, while 14 percent were dissatisfied for a net score of +52.

Sotto thanked the Filipino people, who despite him not trumpeting his accomplishments, have noticed his performance as Senate president.

He also thanked his colleagues in the Senate as their cooperation is vital for the passage of several measures.

He added this inspires him more to continue to give his best until his last day in office as senator on June 30.

“I would like to thank our countrymen for their trust. Trust is what’s important. So, I thank them. It’s very inspiring. I am also glad that despite not broadcasting the help we give, they have been aware of them. Thank you very much,” he added.
