MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) launched on Monday its Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation Through Reinforcement and Education (Adore).

PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said that the police will return to streets to reach out to illegal drug victims.

“This is a commitment by the Philippine National Police that through the reinforcement, this is our rehabilitation, recovery, and wellness, and reintegration of the more than 1.2 million that surrendered,” Carlos said during the flag raising and program launch at Camp Crame.

“We will go back to the streets now that we are in a new normal that the environment will allow us to reach out again to them, the victims of these illegal drugs. We will continue that and we will continue reducing the supply by our law enforcement function together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency,” he added.

“Your DOH (Department of Health) shares the vision of a healthy Pilipinas with the Philippine National Police through health promotion activities on substance use and abuse,” said Duque, a guest of honor, in the same event.

“The DOH believes that substance use and abuse are a chronic but treatable medical condition. Treating this condition requires a holistic approach through a whole-of-government, whole-of-society, and whole-of-systems approach,” he added.

The Adore is part of the PNP’s Double Barrel operation, launched in 2016, which consists of the Oplan High-Value Target and the Oplan Tokhang to combat illegal drugs.
