Man accused of rape nabbed outside church

POLICE arrested a 40-year-old member of a charismatic group in Mandaue City after a 14-year-old girl accused him of raping her two years ago.

Richard Rosca was arrested last Wednesday inside the premises of the Holy Family Church in Maguikay, Mandaue City after he attended a prayer meeting in the church.

Chief Insp. Rocky Neron led the Criminal Investigation and Detective Team who served the warrant of arrest to Rosca. The arrest warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Beinvenido Saniel of branch 20 for the rape charge.

No bail was recommended.

Rosca admitted to Cebu Daily News during an interview at the CIDT detention cell that he had sexual intercourse with the girl but they had a relationship.

“Naa miy relasyon (We had a relationship),”Rosca said.

He said he would face the charges against him and a lawyer from the Public Attorney’s Office would defend him.

Yesterday, Rosca was turned over to the court and was committed to jail. Correspondent Chito O. Aragon
