Suspect in slay of Iloilo village councilor nabbed

ILOILO CITY — A man who was linked to the slay of a barangay (village) councilor was arrested by policemen in Barangay Agtabo, Passi City on Friday, March 11, 2022.

Bernie Palermo, 41, did not resist arrest.

According to Lt. Jerson Baldevia, chief of the New Lucena Municipal Police Station, told Super Radyo Iloilo that Palermo was accused of killing a barangay councilor who reprimanded him for being noisy in 2018.

Palermo hid himself from the authority for more than three years.
