Defensor sees realization of Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridge if Leni Robredo wins presidency

Defensor vows to realize proposed Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridge

ILOILO CITY — Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. on Thursday was confident that the proposed Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PGN) bridge project will be implemented if Vice President Leni Robredo is elected as the country’s next president.

In a press conference, Defensor said the bridge is very important for people of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Island.

“This bridge will change the lives of people here in Region 6,” he said.

The 32-kilometer PGN bridge has been a dream for Western Visayas since it was first proposed in 2017.

The PGN bridge is divided into two sections: the 13 kilometer Panay-Guimaras bridge and the 19.47 km Guimaras-Negros bridge.

The cost for the Panay-Guimaras segment is P65.7 billion and P123.82 billion for Guimaras-Negros segment.
