Villar says Ilocos got more than 6,000 infra projects in last 5 years

MANILA, Philippines — Former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said the Ilocos Region experienced significant progress in terms of infrastructure projects in the last five years.

He assures that the progress will not stop there even as he guns for a seat in the Senate in the coming May polls.

“Patuloy naming susuportahan ang mga pangunahing imprastraktura sa Ilocos. Kami po ay nananatiling tapat sa aming pangako na mapaginhawa ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan sa pamamagitan ng mga proyektong ito [We will continue to support leading infrastructure projects in Ilocos. We will be true to our promises for a better life of our people through these projects],” Villar said in a statement.

To date, the Department of Public Works and Highwayws already completed 6,071 infrastructure projects in the Ilocos Region in the span of five years. These projects help ease the lives of the locals and spur development in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.

These projects include the following:

“Masaya po akong makita na gumiginhawa ang buhay ng ating mga kababayang Ilocano, nakakataba ng puso na makita ang ganda ng Ilocos region,” he said.

“Akin pong ipagpapatuloy ang magandang nasimulan ng Build Build Build Program upang makapagbigay ng kabuhayan para sa mga manggagawang Pilipino.”
