Robredo stumps in 3 Caraga provinces
BAYUGAN CITY, Agusan del Sur, Philippines — With just 60 days to go before election day, Vice President Leni Robredo followed another back-breaking schedule on Wednesday, capping a two-day campaign in the Caraga region by attending six separate activities in Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Agusan del Norte provinces.
These were on top of the five events she and her running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, went to on Tuesday, including those organized by local Catholic leaders, in Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte.
Just like their recent political rallies in some provinces in Luzon and the Visayas, the tandem’s sorties in Caraga region were also attended by thousands of “kakampinks,” the self-ascribed label of Robredo’s supporters.
Asked to assess the first month of her campaign for the presidency, Robredo said she was satisfied with how her team had mounted the campaign with the help of their volunteers.
“Actually, what has been happening now is more than what we expected,” she told reporters after speaking before a crowd of about 2,000 kakampinks at Agusan del Sur College here.

“While our campaign schedule has been really punishing, we get the energy from our volunteers on the ground … They have fueled us,” she said.
Robredo trounced her closest rival, former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in Caraga during the 2016 vice presidential race, beating him by more than 220,000 votes.
