The DOH has stopped giving a daily COVID-19 report and transitioned into a weekly report — the first one released on Monday.

In its first weekly report, a total of 6,297 new infections of COVID-19 were reported from March 1 to 7.

According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, the transition into a weekly released report is meant to boost the confidence of the public under the new normal.

While the DOH had retained the COVID-19 tracker on its website (which usually updates every night), the tracker will eventually be updated on a weekly basis, said Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire in an earlier statement.
