ANGAT, Bulacan––A truck driver in this town died Tuesday, March 8, after a distant relative shot him, allegedly due to an old grudge, police said.

Investigators ruled out politics in the killing, saying the motive was personal and triggered by an old grudge between the victim and suspect Alfie Bantog, 34.

According to the police, Espayos went to the family’s backyard plantation in Barangay Banaban 1st at about 7 p.m. to harvest eggplants. But his family was shocked when he returned home all bleeding from gunshot wounds.

Police conducted a hot pursuit operation that resulted in the arrest of Bantog.
