Flash floods and landslides are possible in affected areas, Pagasa warned.
The LPA was spotted at 135 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur at 3 a.m., said Pagasa.
The state weather agency added that the LPA is not likely to become a tropical cyclone.
“Kasalukuyan, mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo… Itong low pressure area ay magtatagal maaari pong tatlong araw sa loob ng Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) bago ito lumabas sa ating PAR,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldzcar Aurelio said.
(Currently, the LPA has a low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone… This low pressure area may stay inside PAR for three days before leaving PAR.)
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the country’s coastal waters will be in slight to moderate condition with 0.6 to 2.5 – meter waves.
