Victorias Milling tightens security after IEDs were found in distillery

BACOLOD CITY – Victorias Milling Co. (VMC) has tightened security at its distillery in Barangay Purisima, Manapla town, Negros Occidental, after improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered a few meters away from the facility.

“We seek the cooperation of residents and our employees to be on alert for people who are seemingly planning to stir violence in the area,” read a VMC statement on Friday, March 4.

A police report said the IEDs were recovered at Hacienda Candelaria, Barangay Purisima on February 26.

Jose Mario Doromay, a security guard, discovered two bottles of improvised explosives about 500 meters away from the distillery’s power plant.
